Issue with Offline Files/Indexing With Windows 7
2 of our Laptops are running Windows 7, on a 2003 AD Domain. When trying to add a Network Share (Home Drive) to the Documents Library I get an Error "The network location can't be included because it is not indexed" That's fine I understand that. From what I have read its a potentially a problem with Windows Search 4.0 not being on the server. I cannot put Windows Search 4.0 on the Server with the Network Share as it is on a NAS. Problem is the same on a Win 2K3 File server as well. The Link in the error message about "How can this folder be indexed" lists Making the folder available offline as the solution to indexing the network share (same as XP) The only problem is when I right click on the network share, a Folder, or a file I do not have the option to make available offline. I have looked in the Sync Center and when I view Sync Partnerships it says I have no sync partnerships set up, so I click on the "Set up new sync partnership" and it shows me folders (1) Offline Files. If I right click on the Offline Files and Click Set up, I get the window telling me to right click on the folder and select "Always available offline" If I click on the Offline Files Icon and Select Properties, Sync Status is inactive, and the States (Enabled, and connected) are both checked but greyed out. If I click on the Manage offline files link it tells me that Offline Files are currently enabled. I have tried disabling/rebooting/re enabling without luck. Can someone tell me how to get my Offline files back?
