Is there an application that will monitor network traffic in real-time?
I am looking for a stable application (not ZoneAlarm) for Windows 7 like Little Snitch. There have been several times that I found my local network was compromised by either an infected machine or someone broke thru my cheap firewall running some sort of exploit. So since Windows 7 removed the network activity blips in the tray I can't even monitor when my network is flooded with traffic. Here is an screen shot of Little Snitch monitor window: You can set rules on the fly, see the activity of each application with the little send/receive gauges and set the window to auto-show/hide on network activity or not show at all. Is there anything that does this? ZoneAlarm crashes. I tried out a few windows gadgets but they have too much overhead and respond slowly. Who said I was a geek?

Leo ... that is a nice Microsoft Network Monitoring tool that is sort of like WireShark. That isn't what I'm looking for however. I am looking for a stable network monitor tool that you can setup firewall rules on the fly. If a application does not have a firewall rule setup, a notification is displayed in real time. Something with a small footprint that is always running in the system tray. So far, I have not been able to find anything like this that doesn't cause more problems than it is worth.www.net4geeks.com Who said I was a geek?
