Is the Recovery Key same as Startup Key in Bitlocker?
I activated Bitlocker in Win7 Ultimate for C: which is the only partition. I had TPM activated automatically, but some group policies were not enabled which led to not getting to the "Enter a pin", or whatever it should have said. I fixed that by commandprompt. When I got to the question "How do you want to store your recovery key?" I chose Save the recovery key to a USB flash drive. Then I had a textfile with this 48 digit password save to usb. Fine, but I also got a computername.tpm file saved to my usb memory. Question: Will this usb now also work as the Startup key?? Because I never got any option to create a specific Startup Key.. Or is the Startup key something complete different, when is it created?
