Is my Norton antivirus 2010 real or did I get involved with the fake??Says I have most recent updates, but when called for help to Norton, said I have virus,my second virus Ive had while using them, what gives?
Hello,Yes I am using Internet explorer and also microsoft too and when using my facebook I do also geta yellow caution sign on the left hand bottom corner and when I click it, it states almost the same. Why does it say null to some things. I have recently started using internet , before, I always was on my phone using the net,so I am learning as I go, and as for viruses, they suck, expecially when you dont have money to invest in all these antivirus programs, and I am hesitant to use free programs, for not knowing which ones to trust. I do have Norton antivirus, but not sureif I downloaded an original or Roague? or some other kind of protection that is just a fake. This makesthe internet not fun anymore, always trying to guess which one is true or false, lol. Just wanted to input my situation also about all this. So any info that anyone has forquestion above , would help me outtoo. Thanks much.

I downloaded Norton Antivirus 2009 and then upgraded to 2010. I have done scans everyday and live updates daily also. Yet Ive gotten more then enough things on my computer that they say suppose to be blocked while using my Norton product. I did at first try their 30 day trialware, thenpaid for it(34.99), but all its catching is tracking cookies. I have called twice for help but they always say, no problem, we can help you with this, then pass me to technical department, both times a girl has been the agent, and stated that only way they will help me is if I pay 129.00 for their tech guy to clean out and restore my computer. I have made it clear to them I have had trojans on here and also spyware,etc.. so why cant they offer me some type of other help besides always just the solution that involves so much darn money. I feel like they have failed me and after Ive thought about it, and read more on fake antiviruses, I feel like maybe I was a victim of this. Anyone have any clues for me to tell if my antivirus program is a fake or if they are really just that unhelpful there at Norton.?? I am using WIndows xp Prof. Media center. I have inheritated this computer from a friend last year, and it had Sheild Deluxe product which was eventually hacked into and messed with. Thanks again for any clues for a single mom, who cant afford to throw this computer out yet,LOL. CM in Wis.1 person needs an answerI do too
