Is it possible to restore Windows 7 Full Image Backup(VHD file) to a new hard drive?
I have done restoring the vhd file to a partition where the original os resides. It appears also possible to restore the backup to a brand new hard drive instead. Is it correct?

You can even restore a System Image Backup to a different computer, if you wish.Click Startand selectHelp and Support. In the Search Box, type Backup and Restore and press Enter. In the Results, select Restore your computer from a system image backup. This will explain all of the options.Thank You for testing Windows 7 Beta Ronnie Vernon MVP

Thanks for your response.I tried Help and Support as suggested but the result displayed was only one as follows:1. Back up your home page or home page tabs.I wonder why I did not get "Restore your computer from a system image backup" as one of the search results.

Hi Ronnie Vernon,No, I launched Windows Help and Support. I navigated from "Start" to "Help and Support", then I entered the search word. It is so simple. I wonder why we do not see the same things.

It's Windows 7 bugs. If you open windows help and support without closing helpand support from other MS program, u will stick with your opened help and support. Make sure you already close IE help before open windows 7 help ad support.
