...or os it possible to get windows mail not live mail onto windows 7? thank you The following is NOT an 'officially supported procedure', so the general warning of "Use at your own risk' of course applies. If you have both a Windows Vista and a Windows 7 install available, it isn't difficult to get the Windows Mail feature of Vista working under Windows 7. http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/5481-windows-mail.htmlWith respect to 'downgrade rights' Microsoft makes those available only for Windows 7 Professional and Windows 7 Ultimate license holders. Windows 7 Professional license hoilders can legitimately downgrade to either Windows Vista business or windows XP Professional. Windows 7 Ultimate license holders can legitimately downgrade to windows Vista Ultimate or Windows XP Professional. The downgrade must be performed before April 1st, 2001. After that date downgrade roights will no longer apply.

If you did NOT have Vista previously, no. You might be able to find a friend running Vista and copy the Windows Mail folder from their Program Files folders, since as far as I know it will run, and restore its own registry settings. However, I'm not sure if that would be entirely legal since the app wasn't included in Windows 7. You are getting into sketchy territory there. I don't know, and have not heard, about downgrade rights for Vista. You would need to contact MS and get a valid Vista product key at any rate. If you like the laptop, and consider this worth downgrading, you can always call and ask. The worst they can say is no. That said, there are other mail clients besides Windows Mail that will work nicely. My father is a technophobe, and he swears by Thunderbird.

Hi,Generally, Windows Mail is built in Windows Vista and it is replaced by Windows Live Mail in Windows 7. Based on my research, to make Windows Mail work in Windows 7,I would like to share the following website:Download Windows Mail from Vista for Use in Windows 7Note: we provide third party link for references.
