Is a reinstall of Win XP Pro from a bootable CD possible when I have XP Pro SP3?
I read KB978788 and it only discusses SP1 and SP2, which can be rolled back in the Control Panel. SP3 cannot, so I am not sure if a reinstall is okay, but I want to start all over from my Windows XP Pro bootable CD and product ID # and work back up. Thanks!1 person needs an answerI do too

Thanks! If it is a Clean install, I will say Yes you can install windows from the XP Installation Media CD you have with the product ID/Key/COA. If you want to Repair/reinstall windows you need either to downgrade to which ever Service Pack you have on the CD or Slip stream the SP3 to the Installation media.HTH, nass -- http://www.nasstec.co.uk
