Is Skype For Business in O365 Proplus package compatible for Lync 2010 server hosted On-Prem?

We have a client whose Exchange is migrated to O365 and they have O365 Pro Plus subscription (This is being tested on pilot batch), which updated their Lync 2013 to Skype For business. They want to know whether Skype for business is compatible for accounts hosted on Lync 2010 On-Prem servers.

Can someone shed some light on it?

Yes, because of migration szenarios, you can use all clients 2010/2013/S4B against all 2010/2013/S4B server.

The S4B client will switch to the Lync 2013 user interface or you can set on the client policy EnableSkypeUI to $true.

Hi VJ Raghavan,

To enable Skype for Business UI, you have to install the February 2015 CU for Lync Server 2010.
