Is CHKDSK in Windows 7 RC still in beta?
I am asking because I used CHKDSK /r on Windows 7 RC x32 after having to hard off my computer due to a problem with iTunes I described in the media forum, and it flashed DOS at me (it didn't wait to ask me if I wanted to do it on the restart because my hard drive needed to be locked like previous versions). When I restarted, my computer just gave me a black screen until CHKDSK was finished and then booted as normal, so if I wanted to check the progress and what the program was actually doing, I couldn't.

I'm pretty sure if your using the /r switch you won't get a progress bar becouse this is the fix and repair command that can only run during bootup while the drive is locked. Thats good becouse the method that shows the progress bar in explorer is not as effective in checking and fixing errors.
