Invalid drive letter

I installed a program on an external drive that at the time was drive F, after updating to windows 10, from windows 7 ultimate it was changed to drive H. Now when I try to open the program, it can't find it. I went to the programs properties settings and changed the look for drive letter from F to H and when trying to open it, it would not open. I tried to uninstall the program using control panel but was told that it could not find the program. I tried to reinstall the program on drive H and was told that it was invalid and there was an error locating drive F. How can I fix this without loosing everything doing a Drive format on C and reinstalling everything on the system? Although that might be a good thing to install windows 10 as a stand alone.

Thank you for any help that you can give me on this issue.

it sounds like you need to rewrite the file path or re-install the program onto that drive

could you just change the letter that is assign to the external drive?

Go in the Disk Management tool (it's easy to get to in Win10... it's on the right-click menu of the start button) and select the drive and change the letter there. If something else is using the F change it first.

I have changed the path, didn't work. I tried to reinstall the program on the H drive (was F drive) and I get an error msg. that tells me an error on F drive. there isn't any F drive on the computer. I go to computer and all that is there is these drives, C, E & H. No F drive.

this is what I told you to do. I said change the letter of the H drive back to F. So if you dont see a F drive it's because you did not read 1 word of what I said before.
