Internet crashes when specific laptop is connected
Two things you could try: Find out what wireless chipset you have (that model has either Broadcom, Intel or Ericsson), go to their website, get the latest drivers and install them. Update your router's firmware to the latest version.

Do u think this can be an issue...? Because I am able to connect other laptops to network. That does not affect my internet spped even Also I've stored my laptop to factory settings.

In a word, yes. Some earlier router firmware doesn't work well with Windows 7 even though it works fine with XP and Vista. Also, since you restored your PC you've got very old (relatively speaking) versions of the wireless drivers installed. You can probably get newer versions from the Lenovo website, but they aren't the latest either; for those, you'll have to look to the chipset manufacturer's site.

So as I understand, I need to do two things 1. Upgrade the firmware of the router to latest version 2. Install the latest driver on my laptop For the first part, could you tell me how to upgrade the firmware of router? Any link that can help me doin so? Thanks Keyur

Sorry, but no. Each model of router has a different way of updating its firmware and I don't know what model you have. Your best bet is to go to the router manufacturer's web page (you'll have to do this anyway to get the firmware) and read the instructions there. About the only thing I can tell you for sure is not to attempt it over a wireless connection; to upgrade the firmware you'll need to be on a wired connection to the router. You should also write down any configuration settings you need, you may have to re-enter them into the router after the update. Try an updated driver for the laptop first though - that may be all you need.

Hi I am facing issues while connectinfg to network I have wireless internet connection at my home. I have 1 desktop and 3 laptops to connect to this network. When I connect one specific laptop to wireless network, the whole network crashes down and no one is able to access internet. After that, we have to plug in and plug out the router and reset all the settings of router to get internet working This problem occurs only when I connect one specific laptop to network. That is Lenovo Y550 series. Initially I suspected it to be a possible virus in my laptop. But I've restored my laptop tofactory settings and hence avoiing any possibility of virus. Even after restore, when I try to connect to network using this laptop, the whole network crashes. Other possibility I suspected is that it may have static Ip defines or some specific gateway defined. But when I check the Internet Protocol properties, 'Obtain IP Address Automatically' is selected which means it does not have static ip Can anyone provide me pointers on how to resolv this issue? My laptop is Lenovo Y550 with Windows 7 32bit OS, 3 GB RAM Let me know if u need any other details Thanks Keyur
