Internet connection sharing problem
I am having problems using Internet Connection Sharing between XP and Win7. I have one computer with Win7 Pro and one with XP Pro. The Win7 computer has a wireless connected to the internet. The XP computer does not. The XP and Win7 are connected via the Local Area Connection. There is a switch between them but no routers. On the Win7 computer's wireless properties I have turned on both checks to enable a shared connection to the internet (Control Panel->Network and Internet->Network and Sharing Center->Wireless Network Connection->Sharing tab and checked "Allow other network users to connect through this computer's Internet connection" and "Allow other network users to control or disable the sharing Internet connection"). On Settings, none are checked. In the past I have been able to get to the internet from my XP computer but now I can't. So I did an ipconfig at the XP computer and it shows it is on subnet 3 but the Win7 computer shows the wired connection is on subnet 1. The Wireless connection is on subnet 0. So I figured maybe the XP computer needs a new address and I did ipconfig/renew but that just comes up saying it could not reach a DHCP server. I checked the properties on the XP computer and it shows to get an IP address automatically. On Win7 I have checked ICS in "services" and it says it is enabled.
