Internet connection behind proxy
I have recently installed Win 7 RC on a test PC to ascertain program compatability for my business apps. So far so good. However, network and sharing centre says "No Internet Connection". System tray icon also says "No Internet". However, IE 8 connects perfectly once configured to use the specified proxy, port and authorised ionternet access username and password. Is there a port I need to configure on the proxy to stop this erroneous "no Internet Connection message"?

During the network connectivity identifying, your computer will try to connect and communicate with http://www.msftncsi.com/ncsi.txt. You may read the following article for detail information. Network Connectivity Status Indicator and Resulting Internet Communication in Windows Vista However, since you mentioned that the computer connects to Internet via a proxy, I suspect that the above communication is blocked by the firewall of the proxy. Therefore, we cannot obtain a correct information of the network connectivity.Arthur Xie - MSFT
