I have a network with four computers, one of the computers with windows XP professional has suddenly a problem. The problem as follow:The PC desktop cannot make a connection with the Internet and the network icon at the bottom right corner of the computer has disappeared. The computer connected to the modem through a wire, but When I tried to connect manually I received a message which shows : error 797. How to set the Internet connection. Please supply the complete error message, without paraphrasing.Error 797 appears to be related to problems with modems used for dial-up connections. If you have a local network, you shouldn't be using a dial-up modem. What service pack is installed on this XP Pro computer? What happened just before the desktop became unable to connect to the Internet? You wrote that the computer connected to the modem (router?) with a wire. How and to what is your computer connected now? What is the make and model of the "modem" to which this computer (and, I assume, your other 3 computers) connect?Open Device Manager (Start > devmgmt.msc > OK). If there are any warnings (yellow !), please identify which devices have the warning(s).Please do the following on the computer with the problem (if you're using another computer to connect to the Internet, copy the IP.txt file to a USB thumb drive or similar so you can paste it into your response):1. Click Start, then type the three letters cmd into the Run box and click OK.2. Type this following and press Enter: ipconfig /all > "%UserProfile%\Desktop\ip.txt" {Enter}3. Open the file IP.txt on your desktop4. Copy and paste the text into your response.
