Internet and network connections drop constantly with no indication whatsoever. W7.
Okay, here's the deal: Network of three computers via router (TL-R402M) through DHCP, household. Two of them are just fine, mine loses connection at least 10 times a day with no indication as to why. Now, that wouldn't be such big of a deal if the only solution wasn't restarting the PC (reseting the router works too, but that's obviously out of the question since other PCs need constant connection). When this occurs, the network troubleshooting tells me that I do not have a valid IP configuration and the System logs tell me that my connection timed out because none of the DNS server responded. The things that I've done so far are the following: Reinstalled Windows (I'm using Windows 7 Professional x64).Checked all the physical connections (cables, router ports, etc.)Bought a new network card and disabled the power management option to turn it off in order to save power.Upgraded my router's firmware with guidance of the manufacturer.Applied the winsock fix.Followed all the standard solutions regarding DNS errors (taskoffload, RSS, etc.)Switched from my ISP's DNS to OpenDNS and back again. That's all the stuff I can remember as this is happening for quite some time now, if I remember anything else, I'll add to the list. I'm getting pretty desperate and the constant aggravation is taking a toll on me. There has to be something more that can be done. Looking forward to your help. Sincerely, ignjatov

Notice you have taken a couple of preventive step but have you try swapping to another workable router or basically connecting the comp (which losses the connection) to the modem bypassing the router & see whether the problem still occurs? Btw are you running any P2P or torrent for the comp of your's? Set your computer up with a static ip address. Set you dns to google dns 8.8.8.8 Or you can try modifying your router settings to increase the DHCP lease time to 7 days or a month.

Yes, forgot to mention it. I tried hooking my PC directly to the modem, there's no loss of connection that way. The next logical step was to buy a new router, but I wanted to know was there anything else to be done before I have to open my wallet. I don't use any kind of p2p.

The connection dies for everybody when we switch to static. It just doesn't work. Also, I did forget to mention that I tried setting permanent lease times. It didn't help. Changing DNS doesn't work either.

Tried that, didn't work. The problem still occurred. Thanks for the input, though. :)

Also, why exactly don't static addresses work? What happens? If you get zero connectivity, then you might not be setting up the static addresses properly. Try disabling ipv6. Do an ipconfig /all and paste the result here.
