Internet access very slow after computer has been idle overnight
Whenever I come back to my computer in the morning, the internet access is very very slow, and even no access at all. My computer does not have "sleep" mode enabled, just the screen saver. My network connection says that I have Internet access. The only way I'm able to get normal Internet access is to unplug the power cord from the cable modem. I am running Windows 7 Pro 32-bit I am connected to a cable modem from RoadRunner I have both the home or work and public firewall's enabled. I do not have Norton or any other anti-virus/firewall software Under the LAN properties, and then under power management, all check boxes are cleared I've been checking the advanced settings for the LAN for any possible red flags... Let me know if there is any other information needed to help solve this issue.

It's just a guess, but it sounds like this is a problem with your cable modem rather than your pc. I would check the config of the modem and see if it has a choice for "Always connected", "Stay alive" or similar.

Hello, Please install the latest version for the driver and reconfigure the modem to test the issue. Also, you can try it in the Clean Boot environment. Regards, Sabrina

Hi, I noticed that you don't mention a router above. So, if you are connected right to the modem check and see if you still have an active DHCP address from your provider in the morning. Sounds like the lease might have expired or another device grabbed it. That is why you are having to power cycle the modem to get back online. Next time try this... go to a command prompt and type ipconfig /renew. Hopefully that works and its not the router like Eirik said.
