Hi, Thank you for posting. I suspect this issue is related to your NIC. Please check if you have installed the latest version of the NIC driver. If you want, please let us know the brand and model of the NIC and we will help you check it. Meanwhile, may I know if the light on the NIC flashes when there is a X mark? Hope this helps. My NIC is Realteak RTL8102E/RTL8103E family PCI-E Fast Ethenet NIC(NDIS 6.20), driver 7.2.1127.2008 form MicroSoft, I don;t think it's my NIC problem, because this issue appeared after i had updated from Win7. By the way the light is on when there is a X mark. And i have installed the newest driver from Realtek. Taskbar indicator shows that connection is ok! I have also tried everything, new drivers etc... Now I tried to boot "Safe mode with network access" and everything works fine! Can anyone tell what I can do that I could boot in normal mode without waiting internet connection?

Hi, in my case removing F-Secure (Virus defenition) and reinstall it in Vista compatible mode was success! Now I can connect after boot to internet without waiting minutes.

Hi Latlaobao, At this time, please also try the following: 1. Manually assign IP address, subnet mask, default gateway and the DNS settings to this network adapter referring to your routers settings and check if it works. 2. Bypass the router and connect this computer directly to the network and see how it works. 3. Change the network cable with another one. Thanks.Nicholas Li - MSFT

Hi, I have same problem with my Windows 7 RC (with updates), I found that by going to Start>Device manager, choosing Network Adapters >right click on Ethernet device> choose DISABLE, wait for refresh, then right click again and choose ENABLE and internet access is restored, til the next time you reboot. Try using hibernation mode instead of turning off the computer.
