Hi,I have an HP Laptop with Vista in it. My broadband connection worked fine before. Now, I move to a different country where another connection was configured on it. That too worked fineNow on moving back, on the previous broadband connection, can only access a few websites (google, orkut).. anything more .. and 'cannot load page'..! Have tried using both IE and firefox... The ISP guys also verified all the Ip and stuff and are kind of clueless...can anyone enlighten me on this one.Regardsshubham

Yes.. seems like.. am getting it crossed checked yet again..whats surprising is, if I access websites of .in domain.. i could see them.. but anything other than that.. I cannot..!! I even tried accessing various websites.. like yahoo .. using the IP address directly.. but unfortunately, that aint working as well

Ok, let's do a basic test. 1. Ping 216.109.112.135 it should return something like this: ping 216.109.112.135 Pinging 216.109.112.135 with 32 bytes of data: Reply from 216.109.112.135: bytes=32 time=1366ms TTL=52Reply from 216.109.112.135: bytes=32 time=998ms TTL=51Reply from 216.109.112.135: bytes=32 time=1196ms TTL=52Reply from 216.109.112.135: bytes=32 time=1197ms TTL=51 Ping statistics for 216.109.112.135: Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss),Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds: Minimum = 998ms, Maximum = 1366ms, Average = 1189ms 2. Ping www.yahoo.com it should return something like this: ping www.yahoo.com Pinging www.yahoo-ht3.akadns.net [87.248.113.14] with 32 bytes of data: Reply from 87.248.113.14: bytes=32 time=822ms TTL=56Reply from 87.248.113.14: bytes=32 time=680ms TTL=56Reply from 87.248.113.14: bytes=32 time=456ms TTL=56Reply from 87.248.113.14: bytes=32 time=563ms TTL=56 Ping statistics for 87.248.113.14: Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss),Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds: Minimum = 456ms, Maximum = 822ms, Average = 630ms if there is no reply in first test (this is google server, and it should reply), then your internet connectivity is not working), but try second test too if there is no resolving in second test your DNS server is not working. Send me resaults - then I will see what should we do next. Robert

hi..well i tried the thnigs u suggested.. the ping with both the domain name.. and well as the IP is working fine... in both cases.. I get a proper response..!! The internet connection is otherwise working fine, I checked it on another laptop with Win-XP on it.. works perfectly fine there..!! but on my Vista laptop.. am getting issues..!Among other things that I observed is, in the device manager, I see this error for a network device : 6tO4 adapter (am not sure what this is used for either, or if it is related with the issue.)This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31)Click 'Check for solutions' to send data about this device to Microsoft and to see if there is a solution available. There is another thread about the same on the forum, but unfortunately has on answer on it. Well I also tried opening some other websites. like hp.com, works fine.. some microsoft sites also work.. but most websites dont..As of now, I have even uninstalled all antivirus as well to make sure tht doesnt affect.but to no avail..pls let me know if you have a solution..RegardsShubham
