Internet Speed incredibly slow on my new computer!
Hi, my name is Matthias and I have an issue. The thing is, we recently bought a new computer, the Dell XPS-7100, with the OS Windows 7 64 bit. Sadly enough, my wireless internet connection speed is TERRIBLE! We're using an adapter (the D-Link DWL G510) that we used before on our other desktop (OS Windows Vista) where it had great internet connection speed, but on my new computer, it just doesn't want to work. The internet speed on my previous computer was 20MB download, 3MB upload, while now on the new computer I can barely get 100kb and do get 1.5MB upload. Please help me! I have been looking around for 2 days now. :(

Hi, Based on your description, I found out that you are currently using a PCI wireless adapter. . To share with you that the Wireless Network’s speed depends on your wireless Power and signal strength. Thus please kindly check your Wireless Network signal strength in the Network Sharing Center. Another reason why you cant have wireless connection is that, it is probably used or uploaded by another person in the same time. Below are the following steps to recommend in order to check the other possibilities: 1. Restart your Wireless Router. 2. Update your PCI adapter driver at http://www.dlink.com/products/?tab=3.driver&pid=DWL-G510&rev=DWL-G510 3. Disable your Anti-virus software. 4. Disable Auto-Tuning.
