Internet Information Services (IIS) v1.1 Manager needs msi update check ... will not install for Win 8.1 (preview) ..

Less complexity, please. Get rid of Pandoras boxes of on-buttons for installing these remote server admin tools.

This is the tool used by many IT Pros and Devs to connect to IIS Servers remotely from Windows client.

So it does not deploy from the Web Platform Installer tool ... downloaded it and configured to install with previous versions.

While at it ... why not put this tool in the RSAT (REMOTE SERVER administration Tool) package? Or make it available as a default feature ... just RSAT "complete" ... in Windows client?

Why do we have to go ... download RSAT, update Windows Client, go to control panel and turn RSAT on/actually install it, discover that IIS remote adm is missing from RSAT ... and also still missing from the dev (??!!) IIS Manager in Windows Client. Then go install the Web Plaform installer ... try finding something called IIS 1.1 Manager (which is the one that should have been distributed with Windows client in the first place for developers). Then install IIS 1.1 Manager.

Then just may be ... you've go full RSAT capability? Or, probably not.

Would be nice if there could just be one RSAT package (i.e. go update its quality at least).

There must be easier or better ways of doing this ... i.e. at least if you could just install Remote Server Administration Tools ... and then you got just that. No additional steps.

Less complexity, please. Get rid of Pandoras boxes of on-buttons for installing these tools.

In Windows 8.1 preview, we can easily install IIS manager components under Programs and Features->Turn on or off Windows features -> Internet Information Service -> Web management tools.
