I have an 08 enterprise server with full GPO's setup for all automatic configuration of IE (proxy, homepage, .pac script, title bar etc), when logging on as an administrator or someone with escalated network permissions, the configuration changes are made to the workstation instantly.. and the user can access the internet fine, when i log on as a limited client or student (mandatory profile), the configuration changes are not applied.. i have checked almost everyhitng i know how to check in the GPO itself and on the workstation.. roaming profile etc.. permissions to specific network policies.. but its just not happening.. if anyone can shed some light on this.. you will save me alot of hair loss! run gpresult from a cmd prompt under the escalated network permissions and then under the limited permissions and see what differences are. This should help you id what GPO is not being applied and then you'll have to look in AD for OU's and see if GPO inheritance is being blocked.
