Internet Explorer crashes anytime a PDF file is downloaded
This is specific for PDF files that pop up which is annoying at all times but unacceptable when I need information from secured environments such as bank accounts. None of the issues in 'related topics' seem to address this issue. Stefaands

Hello, This is a generic answer, how to disable add-ons, assuming that's the problem. Please be more specific in your question. To start the process of troubleshooting, run IE7 with no add-ons so see if an incompatible browser add-on or extension is at the root of your troubles Click Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools, and then click Internet Explorer (No Add-ons). If your browser appears to be working properly in Internet Explorer (No Add-ons) mode, continue with the following steps to help identify which add-on may be causing the problems: To isolate the specific browser add-on that is contributing to the issue, you can use IEs Manage Add-ons feature to pick specific add-ons to disable: Click Tools -> Internet Options. Click the Programs tab, then Manage add-ons (see figure below): Note: The Manage Add-ons option under Tools is disabled in No Add-ons mode so you must go to Internet Options, Programs, Manage add-ons to manually enable/disable add-ons. Select an add-on in the Name list, and then click Disable (see figures below): Click OK, OK again, OK again and then close IE. Restart IE normally and see if your problem is resolved. If it is, you should uninstall the specific add-on via Control Panels Add/Remove Programs or the applications own uninstaller. If the problem persists, you will need to repeat steps 1-3 until you have identified the specific add-on causing the problem. Open up IE, next go to the right hand corner of the sub menu, click on tools>internet option>advanced tab. Under reset internet explorer settings, click on the reset tab. Once done, relaunch IE again, try downloading a pdf file again & see how it goes Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. Also, if the issue persists, can you open the Action Center on the taskbar > Maintenance > View reliability history > View all problem reports Can you right-click on a few of the "Internet Explorer" "Stopped working" errors > View technical details What are the details of the errors? There is a "Copy to Clipboard" link at the bottom. Paste the information into Notepad and recopy the information from Notepad to post here.
