I have joined a Windows 7 pc to the Domain and there are consistent issues connecting to the Internet with Windows 8. I get Internet explorer cannot display the web page on www.cnn.com. Start with the basics: DNS settings? Connection settings in IE8? If you go to Tools | Internet Options | Advanced in IE8 and click "RESET" does that help?-B- http://www.officeforlawyers.com Author: The Lawyer's Guide to Microsoft Outlook

DNS settings are the same as all XP/IE7 pc;'s pointing to the Win 2003 DNS servers on our network. Even after RESET and changing Deleting Internet Files....the response is Still inconsistent. I was on a website, then went to Bing.com and opened a TAb to USAtoday.com and they both come up with .....CANNOT DISPLAY WEB PAGE" ..... Then I close and open back to msn.com....everything is fine. Then it takes 60 seconds to go to www.cnn.com..... Just very inconstent performance....cnn.com comes up immediately on the XP machines.

You may temporary disable antivirus and firewall on the Windows 7 computer and check the result. If it does not help, please follow the steps below to reset IE settings to default. 1. Click Start, please type “inetcpl.cpl” (without quotation marks) in the Start Search bar and press Enter to open the Internet options window. 2. Switch to the Advanced tab. 3. Click the "Reset Internet Explorer Settings" button. 4. Click Reset to confirm the operation. 5. Click Close when the resetting process has finished. 6. Uncheck the "Enable third-party browser extensions" option in the Settings box. 7. Click Apply, click OK. If the issue persists, please remove all third party toolbars. Then, if it occurs again, temporary disable the anti-virus and firewall. If the issue remains, click the Start Button, All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, and then click Internet Explorer (No Add-ons). If the issue does not reoccur, it may be caused by an IE Add-on. In that case, let’s continue to perform the following steps to narrow down the cause. Check Internet Explorer Add-Ons ========================= 1. Click Tools, and then click Internet Options. 2. Click the "Programs" tab, and then click Manage Add-ons. 3. Select an add-on in the Name list, and then click Disable. 4. Restart IE with Add-ons and check the issue again. If the issue is resolved, the disabled Add-on was the cause of the issue. If the issue reoccurs, continue to disable the next Add-on using the same method. By doing so, we could determine which Add-on contributed to the issue.Arthur Xie - MSFT

Maybe you need to temporary remove the antivirus and check the result to determine whether the antivirus is the culprit.Arthur Xie - MSFT

i have another Laptop which has Windows 7 with only Microsoft Security Essentials installed. It has the same issue with not getting on the internet. I use this laptop at home all the time hooked to my home network and it works flawlessly without fault. When I login to the Domain, Internet Explorer has the same issue. It says there is NO connection to the Internet under Network and Connection Properties. Same exact issue. We are stumped

I've had a similar issue trying to connect to a site, other sites load fine but this one and only in IE would it not work. I had disabled all add ons, antivirus firewalls etc. all to no avail. what i then found out was that in Safety - Webpage Privacy Policy... The site have been set some how to "Never allow this site to use cookies" which caused the "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" error. once it was allowed it would work fine. hope this helps.
