Internet Explorer automatic login problem - kerberos ticket
System Info: Windows 7 Enterprise SP1, IE 9, SharePoint 2013 which uses Kerberos authentication, Windows 2008R2 domain Problem: I believe I have a problem with Kerberos logging in to a Sharepoint website. IE 9 is set to "Automatic login only in Intranet zone" On other computers I can login with my "regular-user" credentials and when I attempt to open my Sharepoint website it automatically logs in as expected. On one computer, I login to it as "regular-user" and when I attempt to open the Sharepoint website it automatically opens using a "sharepoint-admin" account that I used when I was configuring the sharepoint server (i.e. Previously I had logged in to computer as "regular-user" and manually logged into sharepoint as "sharepoint-admin") I have been thinking a cached kerberos ticket is causing the problem. Things I've tried on this computer: klist purge (both as "regular-user", "sharepoint-admin", elevated administrator command prompt) kerbtray purge ipconfig /flushdns clearing IE cache -- everything including passwords reset IE security zones to default settings restarting computer After I "klist purge", it says all tickets have been purged. No tickets show up when I type 'klist' or 'klist tickets' After I try logging into the website as "regular-user", I see a kerberos ticket listed for "sharepoint-admin" when I type in 'klist'. Any other ideas what I should try?

Hi, Have you tried the compatibility mode for a test? From your description, this issue may not be related to the client issue, it is recommended to post in SharePoint 2013 forum for help: SharePoint 2013 - Setup, Upgrade, Administration and Operations http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/sharepointadmin/threads If you have any feedback on our support, please click hereAlex Zhao TechNet Community Support

Thanks for the suggestion. Compatibility mode didn't make a difference. The reason I think it is a client issue is the presence of the kerberos cached ticket on the client despite my efforts to remove/purge it.

Hi Paul, Have you checked if local cached credential is configured? If it's Win7, check Credential Manager and also clear IE cookies. Thanks Brian. You were right. I was able to remove the cached credential in Credential Manager.
