I runned the "Diagnostics" but it doesn't find any problemI have also tried all combinations of "LAN Settings", enabling/disabling "Automatically detect settings" and "Use Proxy server ..."butI am still not able to navigate to any webpage. The problemstarted 2 days ago, so I went back and restored to the prior restore point, but still no change.Any suggestion?

Hi1. If you have recently installed some anti-virus software is may prevent you internet access, so unintstall or disable it2. Check whether IE8 is enabled in firewall settings3. Disable IE8 addons that have bar in its name 4. Reset IE options to defaults

I have had a similar problem, followed same steps as you including the above. I was able to get WebPages from Firefox so it gave a clue that IE 8 had some problem with proxy.. I checked off "automatically detect settings" in the lan settings under connection for IE options and that fix was the cure! As a support tech we would always suggest to have that checked but in this case it was a hindrance for IE. Edit: I took a look at registry but couldn't figure out the mess under the settings for this feature, I know its messed up though. .

This worked for me as well... hate that I have to leave it that way, but it is what it is. Thanks for the info.Jimmy Harris
