Internet Explorer 8.0 will not load https pages
Running Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit with all published updates. When attempting to use IE 8.0 to access ANY secure/https sites I get "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage:" When I press the "Diagnose Connection Problems" button I get "An error occurred while troubleshooting". When I run Powershell with "PS C:\Users\Bob Kivi> Get-TroubleshootingPack -Path “C:\Windows\diagnostics\system\Networking” | fl" The response is as follows: Get-TroubleshootingPack : A system-level error occurred while verifying trust. (Exception from HRESULT: 0×80096001) At line:1 char:24 + Get-TroubleshootingPack <<<< -Path “C:\Windows\diagnostics\system\Networking” | fl + CategoryInfo : InvalidArgument: (C:\Windows\diagnostics\system\Networking:String) [Get-TroubleshootingP ack], COMException + FullyQualifiedErrorId : PackageCouldNotBeLoaded,Microsoft.Windows.Diagnosis.Commands.GetTroubleshootingPack This has frustrated me for several months and my workaround has been to use another browser, which doesn't work on Microsoft.com sites very well :( Thanks Bob Kivi
