Internet Connection just not working
I can't figure out what happened, The system just can't seem to connect to the internet. I thought it was my ethernet card so I went out and bought a new ethernet card with drivers for vista (cause I thought that would work) and it still doesn't work, so I was like, maybe it's my pci card, whatever, the USB ethernet adapter is like $14. THAT doesn't even work. So now I'm confused, what is going on? Is it windows 7? The internet works on my XP system so I have no idea how to troubleshoot this problem.

I have the same problem - no internet connection on W7 (it does work on XP, Vista, Ubuntu, Mandriva) - an ,,erreur'' (a French version of W7)# 651. I have no plan to change a hardware in my comp.(lol) Ef

I found out to be not too quick logging into the network when you boot up. If I logon immediately after the logon screen appears, it won't log onto the network but if I wait about 15 or 20 seconds, it logs on just fine. Apparently, the device driver hasn't had time to load.

So, you are saying that if I start windows7 , and not have my ethernet cable plugged into my machine, and wait 20 seconds after the machine starts, then plug in my ethernet, I should be fine?

No. Keep your network cable plugged in.What I AM saying is that when the network logon screen appears, wait a few secondsto let the NIC driverload and get running.Works on my machine (Dell 530s with 3GB ram).

I have had to unplug my ethernet cord, boot up my machine, log on, then plug in the ethernet in order to fix this issue. My windows 7 automatically logs on so I have not tried the waiting to log on solution yet.

I have the same issue. Same prblem in Beta same problem in RC. When you logon, the computer doesnt connect to interent. It apears that is not able to get a ateway address ( I saw when trying to solve it). I initially thought it is related to my F-secure package (though firewall is off). I can't get to figue out what is going on. I also agree that if I don't login and leave the computer few minutes then after login the internet conenction is there. I have a D-linl WIFI router, though I am connected via GB ethernet, Asus P5Q PRO, 8GB RAM, Intel Core 2 duo, Atheros Ethernet card and Win 7 64.
