Internet Connection Sharing issue with Vista and XP computers.
I have a host computer , running Windows XP service pack 3, with a Virgin Mobile Broadband2Go modem, And a laptop running Vista. The host computer is connected to a Microsoft MN-700 via a CAT5 network cable. The laptop is connected via a wireless connection. I am trying to share the Broadband2Go internet connection using Internet Connection Sharing. I have turned on the sharing on the network connection, on the host computer. But the laptop will not connect to the internet. I can ping the host, from the laptop, but cannot ping the laptop from the host. I have tried everything that I can think of, to get the network working. It was working, until Thursday. On Thursday, there were some Automatic Updates installed on the host computer. They were security updates. I do not know if the security updates would have affected the network, or not. Any helkp would be appreciated. Thank you,Oscar1 person got this answerI do too
