Internal Wireless Adapter switch to External Adapter Wireless adapter connection issue
I have an Acer Aspire One net book with an internal wireless network adapter. Connection to the internet using a D-Link DI-524 wireless router works just fine. The Acer runs Windows XP Home edition My problems occur when I attempt to establish a connection with an external Alfa wireless adapter AWUSO36H connected to a USB port on the Acer. Installation of the Alfa software; i.e. utility and driver goes without a hitch. However, when I disable my internal wireless adapter in order to switch to the external adapter, I lose the internet connection, and the connection itself is very intermittent. One moment showing connection the next no connection. Yet, one of the utility status indicators indicates communication with the DI-524.I have installed the latest drivers for the Alfa and uninstalled and reinstalled the utility software a number of times and it still exhibits the same problem. If I switch back to my internal wireless adapter everything is fine. I would like to use the external adapter because it increases the range of coverage.Could use a step by step method of correcting the issue. 1 person needs an answerI do too

HiIf you opt to use the Vendor's Wireless adapter utility, disable the Windows Native Wireless utility (WZC).http://www.ezlan.net/wzc.html Jack-MVP Windows Networking. WWW.EZLAN.NET

Sorry. Obvious solution. Software for the Alfa has an option block you check as the first step in installing the software. Thanks, but this isn't the solution.
