Intermittent WiFi Connectivity
On an HP laptop running Vista my wireless connection drops and reconnects on it's own. This all takes place within a minute or so. I checked the logs and here are the sequence of events that occurs when this scenario occurs: 10:10:16 Wireless security stopped. Event ID 11004 Security Hint: The operation succeeds.10:10:26 WLAN AutoConfig service has successfully disconnected from a wireless network. Event ID 8003 Reason: The network is disconnected by the driver.10:10:34 WLAN AutoConfig service started a connection to a wireless network. Event ID 800010:10:34 Wireless network association started. Event ID 1100010:10:34 Wireless network association succeeded. Event ID 1100110:10:34 Wireless security succeeded. Event ID 1100510:10:34 Wireless security started. Event ID 1101010:10:34 WLAN AutoConfig service has successfully connected to a wireless network. Event ID 8001Is the security stopped event a trigger to something happening?

BillHere are some of the usual things to try: Go to Control Panel > All Control Panel Items > Network & Sharing Center > Change adapter settings (in the left pane), right-click on the connection you‘re using > Properties > Networking Tab. Now remove the tick from the IPv6 box. If it makes no difference or causes other problems it is completely reversible by ticking the box. Go to the manufacturer’s website and/or Windows update and look for an updated adapter driver. If you are running a third-party firewall, try temporarily uninstalling it.
