Interent connection problems
I have an acer aspire laptop. I had comcast service and my internet connection was fine. We moved and received new cable installation. I now have no internet either by dSL or wireless...I can take my laptop to the local coffee shop and get internet just fine. I have completely restored my laptop as I paid microsoft support $59.00 to tell me to do that. My internet with the cable company comcast is good, I just can't connect. I tried to reinstall my router, but cant cause I can't get an internet connection... help me please....

Hi, Based on your description, as you can access internet via local coffee shop (both cable and wireless assumed), the network settings on Windows Vista should be fine. I am wondering if you can test on another computer with the cable company comcast. Can you access internet by connecting directly to the cable bypassing the router? At this point, you can run the troubleshooting tool to automactically detect the root cause. Please click Start, type troubleshooting and press Enter. Click "Connect to the Internet" under the "Network and Internet" section. Please tell us the result. Meanwhile, you can try resetting the router instead of reinstall the router. Regards,Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question.
