Intel wireless network card not working after sleep
When returning from sleep, my wireless adapter (Intel 4965AGN) fails to properly work. Usually the issue manifests in the wireless card simply being unable to see the wireless networks, but the wireless light is illuminated. Sometimes, the wireless light will fail to illuminate even with the wireless switch turned on and the device enabled. The issue is always fixed by disabling and re-enabling the wireless adapter (after which it immediately connects to the saved network). This issue happens with ALL wireless networks, regardless of make, model, or configuration of the wireless router. Network diagnostics never detects this issue; it usually gets to "resetting the wireless adapter" and then just says something along the lines of "issue with access point or wireless adapter." The latest driver has been installed, and was installed from Windows Update (interestingly, this started happening after Windows Update pushed a new driver.)

Has anyone else seen (or resolved) a similar issue? I suspect this is an issue with the driver. I'm considering attempting to download Windows Vista drivers from Intel's website to see if those work better, as they don't provide official Windows 7 drivers through intel.com (all Intel wireless drivers for Windows 7 are now distributed through Windows Update, according to their support documents.)
Thanks for reading.
[There were a couple threads reporting similar issues that I already read, but they were very old so I thought it best to create a new one. Apologies if this was the wrong decision.]
P.S., is there a way to download older versions of drivers through Windows update?

I attempted updating to the latest Windows Vista (x64) version provided by Intel, 12.4.3.9, but the problem still occurs. It's interesting to note that the driver provided through Windows Update is signed by Microsoft, whereas the driver provided by Intel is signed by Intel.
[edit]
I did a little more troubleshooting. The problem still happens even with the computer in the "maximum performance" power profile, but does not appear to happen when the "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" check box is unchecked.

Such issues are caused by hardware, there are several possible reasons.
1. Incompatible third party programs affect. 2. The driver is not compatible with power management in Windows 7.3. The ACPI of the BIOS is not compatible with Windows 7.
You may disable all third party background programs, especially the anti-virus and firewall. Then check the result. If the issue persists, try to upgrade the BIOS.
We noticed that the latest driver for your network adapter is for Windows Vista. Maybe the latest BIOS is not for Windows 7 either. If the above suggestions do not work, we are not able to resolve this issue currently. You may need to wait for Intel or your motherboard manufacturer to release new updates for their devices.Arthur Xie - MSFT

Are you using Windows 7 Beta? I had the exact same problem with this version. It was resolved in the RC version.

I'm currently using the RC, but I checked my manufacturer's website and found a BIOS update that supposedly adds support for Windows 7. I'm going to test later to see if the problem still appears or not.
(As an aside, updating the BIOS was a HUGE pain - they only provide an update utility for 32-bit Windows (I'm using 64-bit) or an ISO image for a CD (I don't have a CD-ROM drive)...)

I had a similar issue. After disabling sleep mode and disablingmicrosoft virtural WiFi mini port in the device manager it worked fine.
