Intel Network Adaptor is removed when Windows 7 resumes from sleep
When my Windows 7 rtm install (x64 iso downloaded from technet) wakes on resume the network adapter dissapears from the network adapters list, under device manager I am unable to locate any network devices. I am using anIntel Gigabit CT Desktop Adapter (PCI-E). I have tried the latest windows 7 x64 drivers from Intel and the drivers from Windows update with no change. I have disabled power management on the network adapter and disabled hybrid sleep with no change. To 'resolve' the issue I need to restart my PC. For the meantime I have changed my PC's power preferences to not sleep at all. Link to adapter below;http://www.intel.com/products/desktop/adapters/gigabit-ct/gigabit-ct-overview.htm

Hi, First, I would like to confirm how does the computer connect to Internet, via DSL or router? If the computer connects Internet via router or switch, I suggest you bypass the router and connect to modem directly for a test. If the issue persists, you can also refer to the suggestions below: Step 1: Upgrade the Motherboard driver and the firmware of BIOS. Please turn on "Wake On Lan" setting in BIOS if there is. Step 2: Unplug all unnecessary device and perform a Clean Boot for a test. Step 3: Disable the relevant option a. Click Start and type devmgmt.msc in the open box, and then press Enter. b. Expand the network adapter. c. Right click the Intel network adapter and click Properties. d. In "Power Management" tab, uncheck the "All the computer to turn off this device to save power" option and click OK. What's the result? Regards, Novak
