Insufficient system resources exist to complete the API when hibernating - even on Windows XP SP3!
Hi,I built this new PC just over a month ago, transferring the hard drives (2 x 2TB) from my old PC. Current spec is: AMD Phenom II X4 955 3.2GHz4Gb RAM (approx. 700Mb used for video memory - ATI Radeon HD 4250)ASUS M4A88TD-M EVO motherboard At first everything seemed fine, but in the last couple of weeks I've been having trouble hibernating. I get the message 'Insufficient system resources exist to complete the API' - the same issue which was fixed by a one-off patch and in SP2 - but I'm running Windows XP SP3! I can't think of anything I've changed to make this start happening I'm afraid. It's annoying because I then have to reboot before I can hibernate successfully - it does work OK immediately after a reboot. Can anyone assist please by suggesting what might be wrong? Does Windows XP not work properly with so much RAM? I am hoping to upgrade to Windows 7 in October once I've made certain my trusty (but old) TV card works OK in Windows 7! Thanks in advanceSteven1 person needs an answerI do too

Unfortunately though if you are talking about System Properties - Advanced - Performance Options - Advanced tab, both Process scheduling and Memory usage are already set to 'Programs' (I've never changed them). I have just clicked on both Programs radio buttons and clicked Apply though in case the settings were being ignored :-) If that's not the option you're talking about, please let me know which other one... ThanksSteven
