Insufficient rights to delete BlackBerry Folder
I have a folder with permissions of an old SSID S-1-5-21 which since I reloaded windows 7 and the user accounts have new SSIDs. I tried going into safe mode Administrator and still was unable to delete this folder. Doubt its a Blackberry problem but probably a combination of BlackBerry's Desktop Manager locking down the folder as admin. The exact error is "You need permission to perform this action You require permission from S-1-5-21-4161018097-1547644911-1219619658-1000 to make changes to this folder. Any assistance outside of reformating the hard drive is greatly appreciated. I guess if it was a backup I could restore the old user but at this point dont see this as an option with Win 7 since I didnt think to save the old profile. reply directly to phil.devinsky@gmail.com, thanks. Hi, Thanks for the post! You can take the ownership of this folder and then delete it. Follow these steps: Open Windows Explorer, and then locate the file or folder you want to take ownership of. Right-click the file or folder, click Properties, and then click the Security tab. Click Advanced, and then click the Owner tab. Click Edit, and then do one of the following: To change the owner to a user or group that is not listed, click Other users and groups and, in Enter the object name to select (examples), type the name of the user or group, and then click OK. To change the owner to a user or group that is listed, in the Change owner to box, click the new owner. (Optional) To change the owner of all subcontainers and objects within the tree, select the Replace owner on subcontainers and objects check box.
