No i just left it since it wasn't relevant and i do not have the time as it may need a small research. But you can sort a search results from any W7 folder, as you have columns or categories on the top such as 'Folder' 'Date modified' 'Type' etc.. By Clicking on of those it sorts the SR accordingly... But i checked it again now, on 8G SD memory card, for the query [*.*] and it takes some while despite the i7 HexaCore, then when sorting by clicking the column it research the query [*.*] all over again.. It seems obviously like it processing something, i can tell by the green 'loading' line running over the address bar RTL, and the fact that the right scroll bar button getting bigger then it was before indexing a smaller number of results, and then getting gradually smaller as whats attributing search pattern and finding result which is here any file [*.*].. By that it's probably the natural way search results is found [i believe the way are curved as a Binary code on the disk, or some order of that form] as with the post sorting search.. My bet is that the autoSearch [as you type] does that, iv'e been looking all familiar settings and also Registry and the LGP editor [GPedit.msc] but nada.. Thanks :-)

Hi, What do you mean "after I sort a search results it research that query, then mess it all again"? I cannot sort the searched results. If you want to disable search feature, please access Windows Features and clear the option for Windows Search. It will disable all search function including in Start Menu and Windows Explorer.Niki Han TechNet Community Support
