Installing a printer

Hi,

I'm installing a network printer that is a USB printer connected to the network through a printer-share on an Win 7 HomeP 32bit.

When I attempt to "Add" the printer in Windows 8.1 x64 - installer is trying to download drivers from windows update, but it cant. I tried install driver by local port (\\ip_address\share) but then i saw - access denied. What elese can i do?

HI

You can manually download drivers and install if Print server is not having drivers for 8.1

Download driver from Internet for P2055

Then install network printer and if it connects to windows update, just cancel it and it will take local Drivers

Hi,

Any update here?

When add a new printer, please take a try to click on create a new port, Then make sure the Local Port is selected. Click Next. Then type the copputer name and the printer name.

Besides, In most cases, you can plug in a wired device or choose a network device, and Windows will set it up automatically. More information, please see the below article:

Add, remove, and manage your devices and printers

Meanwhile, we might also seek help in the manufacturer website and see if any help could be offered there.

Best regards
