Installing a network printer...
Hello,I try to install a network printer (HP LaserJet 4100) on my Win 7 32bit machine.both network printers are found and the installation seems to go well until a windows opens saying "TCP/IP port detection" (well my system is in French and the message is "Detection du port TCP/IP") Windows will close this window automatically when this step is over. The problem is that this step seems to be endless. I have tried to deactivate the firewall, restarted several times, but nothing helps, the tcp/ip port detection seems to need hours ...Must have done something wrong, but what ?Thanks for your hints & help!Philippe

Hi,First, I would like to confirm the following questions:1. When did the "TCP/IP port detection" window pop up? Did it occur after clicking "Add a network, wireless or Bluetooth printer" option?2. Can the HP network pritner be detected on other network machine? At this stage, please refer to the following steps to troubleshoot the issue.1. Temporarily turn off the firewall on the each machine and router (if it has).2. Assure that each machine is in the same subnet.3. Perform the suggestions from the link below to add the network pritner in "Devices and Printers".Troubleshoot network printer problemsIf the issue persists, please capture the message and upload it to Skydrive (www.skydrive.live.com), and then share the link to me.Thanks,Novak
