Installing IE8 on Win7
Hi, I was wondering if there was a way to get IE8 (with all the settings configured) deployed on a Win7 machine without doing a full install of IE8 since Win7 already comes with it installed. We have a package created using IEAK 8 for Win7 but that seems redundant when all we need are settings tweaked and the browser customized. Some of the settings can be covered using GPO's, but I was wondering if there was a way to take like reg settings and apply vs full IE8 bits generated by IEAK. Any input would be appreciated, Thanks!

Hi, do some research on Automating Windows 7 using WAIK(Windows Automated Installation Kit). There are several methods of deployment but this one you can specify defaults for IE8 and many other things. http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=696dd665-9f76-4177-a811-39c26d3b3b34&displaylang=enLife is just one big learning curve, lets skate on knowledge
