Installing Active X Software from Unknown Publisher
I am trying to use HP's automatic printer (and other device) driver update analysis tool via the HP website. Even running as administrator with no User Account Controls, I run into the problem that the HP detection software cannot be installed because
it is from an unknown publisher. I cannot find my way around this problem.
One can access the tool via the related link on the following HP webpage:

Help would be appreciated.

In Win 7 Ultimate there's the user account which is normally created at OS installation, and while it claims to be an admin account, it is not a true admin account.
To use a real admin account (or what some call big admin account) you have to get into group policy. There's an explanation of it here: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/507-built-administrator-account-enable-disable.html
I'm not saying this is your problem and I'm not saying it's not. But it may be worth the short while it takes to give it a try. let us know you make out.
