Installed Win7 on 2 partitions - How to uninstall 1 of them?
This question is about uninstalling Windows 7 from a hard drive partition.I have Win 7 Home Premium on 2 partitions because I got a the dreaded black screen when it was installed for the first time. I found out after the fact that Win 7 changed the video output settings of the graphics card. One DVI port on the graphics card goes to a flatscreen monitor on the desk and the other DVI port goes to a widescreenLED TV. Win 7 output the video signal to the widescreen TV and I did not figure this out until I had installed Win 7 on a separate partition.(To resolve the black screen issue, I unplugged the widescreen TV from the DVI port and rebooted. This routed the video signal to the desktop monitor.)I need to uninstall Win 7 on the "second" partition because I get a very confusing dual boot screen at startup. The dual boot screen has 2 lines that read "Windows 7". I need to select the second line to boot the version of Windows 7 that has all of our files and settings. Where can I find instructions on how to remove Windows 7 and restore our computer to a single boot system? Thanks in advance.quakerbacker

Press start menue, type in MSCONFIG in the search and click enter. System Configuration window should open. This window has 5 tabs (General, Boot, Services, and lastly Tools), click boot and then choose the drive you want to delet and click delet (MAKE SURE THAT THE DRIVE YOU ARE DELETING IS NOT THE DEFAULT OS, if you don't know how to change the default OS ask and I will tell you). After clicking delet Near the bottom right hand corner there is a check box with " Make all boot settings permanent" check it off then click ok. A dialog box will come out and say you are changing the boot etc etc etc etc click ok. It will as you to restart (MAKE SURE ALL DOCUMENTS ARE SAVED BEFORE STARTING ANY OF THIS), let it restart and you should be done.Hope that was helpful good luck

After deleting the boot entry as above, you can delete the system files from the Second partition. The main files are stored atthree folders: Windows, Users and Program Files.Vivian Xing - MSFT
