Install 3 updates today, and lost my settings and files....head scratcher
My computer automatically installed these files: KB2607712 (Update for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems) KB2533523 (Update for Microsoft.NET Framework 4) KB2468871 (Update for Microsoft.NET Framework 4) Next time I turned on my laptop, the login screen said "Configuring Desktop" once i got to the desktop, lost my background - it was just black, lost my favorites on IE, my Music/Pictures/Video folders were empty, so i installed those updates got all of my folders and favorites back but my laptop keeps saying they are "important updates" The one thing i dont get, my parents computer has the KB2607712 update and nothing happened to their computer. So why does those updates screw up my laptop?

Apparently the update KB2607712 is screwing alot of people up. So Microsoft should look into that update instead of assuming something is wrong on my end
