Infineon TPM install
I'm trying to install Infineon TPM software (3.0) onto my VAIO TT running build 7022 but keep running across install error 1722 - there is a problem with the installer package - Action RegisterSpManagementService, location ...\ifxspmg...Any ideas on how to fix this so I can complete the install? Is build 7022 available for the public?W7 Beta running on an AMD Semprom 3200+ (1800Mhz) with 2 Gbs of RAM and a built-in Nvidia 6100 VGA, and mate, it runs like a charm!

I don't know where I saw it but I am certain I saw that TPM 3.0 was not compatible. So for my laptop I have installed the fingerprint reader and the HP protecttools security suite (some of which causes a compatibility error), but not the TPM module of the suite. All is working OK with that setup

I'm guessing you mixed up 7022 and your error 1722. Because I'm pretty sure you're running Build 7000. (you can check the bottom right handcorner of your desktop to confirm that.) This being the only build that is officially released to the public and beta testers.Have you tried running the installer with administrator privileges. (right click, Run As Administrator?)I know that many of the Sony installers had problems installing even on Vista where the initial decompression package behaved in a way that windows thought the application was not properly installed.Otherwise this may be a compatibility issue, which is not impossible given that the software is trying to interface with the Security hardware on the laptop. Also if this is to initialize the TPM for something like Bitlocker then you can do that through Windows you don't necessarily need the Infineon software.Daniel Nerenberg MCT MCSE MCITP MCTS MVP
