Infected with spyware? malware?
I think I've been infected with spyware or something malicious (on my Windows XP desktop), my IE8 has started showing numerous pop-ups despite the pop-up blocker, the system has slowed down somewhat, and the browser re-directs to unrelated web pages. I've tried cleaning with Windows defender, IOBit Security 360, system restore, switch to Firefox and nothing seems to help, Any suggestions?

Reboot the machine into Safe Mode by tapping the F8 function key at startup. Run your scans from Safe Mode and see what that brings.Ron Chamberlin
