Indexing service is uninstalled and my hard disks are indexed anyhow
Hi,I have installed Windows 7 RC 32 without indexing service on my machine. And still 2 of my hard disks are indexed.Does anybody know how that can be ?I have un-indexed both of them manually via disk properties resulting in a lot less disk activity.Regards Picsoe

Hi Picsoe, It seems that it is by design that the option "Allow files on this drive to have contents indexed in addition to file properties" is still chosen even when the Index Servicing is not installed. The same thing occurs on my Win 7 RTM. Regards. Cecilia Zhou

Cecilia Zhou Thanks Cecilia,Good to know.My3 hard disks are un-indexed now and I notice a lot less disk activity now.I really wonder what the advantage of indexing is, I hate the disk activity that comes with it.Regards Picsoe
