Increase hard drive memory
My xp windows is taking approx 7.0 Gb of hard disk space is there any way I can delete any unecessary files and free up some hard disk space?1 person needs an answerI do too

7.0 isnt all that much,however hd memory is usually called "virtual memory" & acts like ram memory,however its also slower..If you mean increase hd space,then youre best bet is to purchase another hd & use it for storage & put a page file on it,this keeps C: drive more space & controls disk fragmentation.A quality hd 100GB or so run less than 50.00 With the slave,put all youre music,videos,photos,etc on it,+ install less used programs to it instead of C:

There are various things you can do to free some hard disk space, butthere are all stopgap measures at best; if you do them, the problemwill return soon. 7GB is a small amount of space these days. If that'sthe amount that's causing you a problem, your only good solution is tobuy a larger drive. Fortunately they are very inexpensive these days. Ken Blake (MS MVP)
