Incident Management with Lync Client

Hello

I'm not 100% if this is the correct forum group. We have a customer that is looking for advanced Incident Management Notifications using an IM client. They use Lync IM/P today via Lync server. They have quite a few requirements for this solution. Below are a few of these requirements. I'm curious to know if Lync can satisfy these. Note this is a transportation company. Thanks

  1. Native support to iOS and Android devices
  2. Support PC platform (e.g. web or native client)
  3. Multi-factor authentication (e.g email token, SMS token)
  4. Encrypted transmission and storage
  5. On Premise installation
  6. User self-enrolment & self-password retrieval
  7. Integration with Microsoft Active Directory or LDAP
  8. Contact list separate from mobile device.
  9. Guess/external access (e.g. email invitation, sms invitation etc.)

10.  Open standard API for custom integration (e.g. WebSocket)

You could get Lync to behave the way you want. Being said that, it might require significant customization

Hi,

We have seen quite a few organisations adopt chat clients for support and incident management. From experience, PChat (which your client seems to use as well) is very impactful as incidents are recorded and searchable for future reference. Pchat also allows for system alerts to be fed straight in those rooms. Just a thought for your client.
