In Win XP Prof I cannot see any Workgroup computers (not even my own local one)!
What parameters could I have stuffed up? Have created local home network (MSHOME, of course), NetBIOS over TCP/IP is enabled, All systems using XP Sp3 , connected by router. Can get to internet quite OK, but not to other computers on LAN (but can ping them by IP address but not by computer name) 1 person got this answerI do too

Hi rerx, Can you get view the computer shares when connecting to the IP, something like \\192.169.1.101. If you can then on the computers please do the following. Click startGo to Run, Type CMDPress Enter. Type "ipconfig /flushdns" (without the quotes)Press Enter. Type "ipconfig /registerdns" See if you can now ping the computers by name. If you still cannot disable any third party firewalls that may be in place on any of the computers and/or the router.
