Important security update will not download or install
I am receiving an error code when trying to download and install an important security download for Cumulative Security Update for ActiveX Killbits for Windows Vista (KB978262). I am running Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit version with service pack 2. I have tried re-installing the service pack again, but this was unsuccessful. Installation date: ‎21/‎05/‎2010 8:13 AM Installation status: Failed Error details: Code 8007065E Update type: Important Security issues have been identified in ActiveX controls that could allow an attacker to compromise a system running Microsoft Internet Explorer and gain control over it. I would also like to let you know, all of the “Failed” upgrades have a sections to “get more information” if you would click on that, follow the links to manually download the upgrade, much of the time this will solve the problem. From time to time you will also get “you system doesn’t need this file/ upgrade” if you get this, do not worry about it. It means that your system has been updated with another file the over wrote this one. But, if you would just check the update errors, you can click the links that will save you a lot of time. Just because an update failed, does not mean there is actually a problem
