My (Network Discovery) and (File & Printer Sharing) keeps on turning on even in Public profile on the network. What should I do to turn it off permanently ? Can Someone please tell me. I would also like to ask if its possible to know which files could have been shared or copied or veiwed when I had changed the network profile to Home. Does my downloads folder get shared with other people on the network . I use windows 7, when I created the homegroup windows 7 gave me a password which I had not given to anyone over the network then I thought they might be viewing my files so I deleted the homegroup disconnected the cable. I just do not want my computer to be discoverd. I am using Zone alarm firewall and windows fire wall.

Hi, Logon as administrator, open the Control Panel - Network and Internet\Network and Sharing Center - Advanced sharing settings Expand "Public", choose "Trun off network discovery","Trun off file and printer sharing","Turn off Public folder sharing", then Click Save Changes. You can not find which file has been copied or viewed unless you monitor it.
